Module 8 Reflection

Of everything you learned, what do you think will have the biggest impact on student learning?

I think that seeing how other groups have incorporated technology into their classrooms is giong to make the biggest impact on student learning. I found it very helpful to see the presentations of other groups. I especially like the idea of creating a website for project based learning. Students can simply go to the website and move through the project. It was a great example of self directed learning. I would like to incorporate that into many of my own units. I can see how I can take existing units and create websites for them to incorporate project based learning and technology into my curriculum.

This module has helped me think about self-directed learners and the role of differentiation in the following ways
I need to give directions and set expectations that account for a variety of intelligences and learning styles. Also, I can help students succeed and become more independent by setting up ways for students to do formative self assessments such as check lists, rubrics, and student sampes.

Module 5 Reflection

This module has made me think about student centered assessment in the following ways: students should be a part of the assessment process. They should become involved in their self assessment and can be involved in assessing other students as well. Students can be taught how to read and use rubrics to assess their own learning and the learning of others. Using reflection journals, setting goals, defining tasks and giving feedback to peers are all ways to create student centered learning.
